Personal Interview:

Why have you chosen to relocate to Green Ridge Island? Please explain below:
My previous employment was to a man named Brandon Keldon, and I was hired to be his cook and part-time house keeper. When his sister and brother-in-law died, his niece, Madeline Adele, came to live with him, and I took on a sort of nanny position for the girl while I was there. Brandon had never married, and so Madeline turned to me for feminine advice and comfort. For six years, I continued to cook for Mr. Keldon and Miss Adele, and as she grew into a shy but beautiful young woman, I began to care for her like any of my other four children. I did not live with them, but five days a week I was there, making breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the household.

When Brandon was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, I was completely caught off guard. Madeline was sent to live with a foster family, but Brandon had funds set aside to continue paying me to keep house, as it was. Over the past year and a half or so, Madeline was enrolled at the Hadley Institute, where she then became pregnant and asked me to move to New York to care for her child until she and her fiance graduate high school. I would like to follow her to Green Ridge, with her son, to continue caring for her son, and giving him as much access to his parents as possible.

Green Ridge Island houses a psychiatric rehabilitation hospital, and as such, living and working amongst those with mental health issues would be typical practice. Are you comfortable with this?:
Absolutely.

Finally, please tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up, and what was it like? What were your prior relationships with significant others/family or friends like? What instances have lead to your current choice in career and/or relocation? What events in your life do you feel have shaped who you are today? Include any information you feel that is pertinent about yourself and your situations:
I grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. Living there all my life, up until recently anyway, has given me a strong sense of personal pride and and a head for ‘southern hospitality’, if you will. I married straight out of high school to my high school sweetheart, and we had four boys together before he died in an construction accident. From then on I was a single mother and raised my boys well. They stayed out of gangs and drugs and trouble, and are all currently going to college on scholarships.

When young Miss Adele came into my life, she slowly won me over as the trauma of losing her parents and such a sudden move subsided. My friends call it madness that I am willing to move across the country to help raise her child, but I must admit that I feel terrible for what happened to her in her uncles house. I never knew what was going on until it was too late, and that fact haunts me still. I hope that in helping her raise her son, in a safe environment with loving parents, will absolve me of that terrible disservice I did to her by not seeing what should have been so obvious.
