Kennedia felt heavy: sluggish and bogged down. Perhaps the sedation had given her brain damage? Could you self test for that? More over would she still be smart enough to see the signs if she was brain damaged or would she always just feel like this. Off and tired and useless. The monsters that ran these places didn't care. They never would. They treated her mind and body with sure callous recklessness. To their eyes she seemed to be expendable. Not the precious gifted jewel she truly was. To them she was mere cattle. Had Kenny the energy be might have cried.

They'd sedated her when it was time to board the plane. She had refused and screamed and tried to hit the orderly escorting her and escape. It hadn't gone over well and Kenny felt the prick and the heavy curtain fall much faster than normal. They hadn't even heard her out. She felt her knees given way and hands tight to her skin. That was all there was before it all went black. She'd woken up as she was carried off the plane but her mind took it's time recovering. She sat up, but swayed and slumped in her seat. Hand touched her, searched her but her words slurred and fumbled too much to object. An orderly brought her to her new room in a wheel chair, carried her to bed. The softness beneath her body was unfamiliar but comfy and she dozed a bit until the sounds of the other students descending on the school roused her more fully.

The half Inuit girl sat up properly again and rubbed her hands over her face. As if trying to squeegee the worn out feelings away. She released her hair from the nearly destroyed bun she put it in in the morning when they were told to move out. Shaking her fingers through the hair and easing some cool air into the dark tresses. No one was in the room yet but it looked safe enough. Kennedia dug into the pockets of her jeans and produced her most 'airplane safe' pendulum. She tested the room with a deep breath. She worked slowly. Her rough state of being meaning that she could very well be off her game. Her round little fist holding the string of stone beads out in front of her in a steadfast, still moment. Her narrow dark eyes fixated on the free hanging end. A circle slowly drawn in the air meant it was safe. Kenny exhaled and smiled softly. So far so good.

As far as kitty knew, she'd never been on a plane before this little trip out to Oregon. She was mistaken though, predictably. Chances were she'd never remember the flights she'd been on as a child, just as she'd likely never remember where she was really from. Senegal wasn't even a place the girl had ever heard of, as far as she was aware, but once upon a time, it had been her homeland. Sometimes, she still dreamed of dusty roads, of sandy beaches, old boats and the smell of fish drying in the sun, but she never really thought much of them. Once upon a time, she'd asked her then owners what they might mean, and all she'd got for that was a switching. Apparently, interpreting dreams was a sin. maybe she'd ask Kenny about that, one day, but not today.

She'd spent most of the journey to the island gazing out of the window with a huge smile on her face, enjoying the sights from every one of the modes of transport they'd used, and while she had heard Kenny's outburst, when she'd tried to stand and go see what was going on, she'd been told straight away to just sit back down. Kitty was never one to disobey a command, she'd stayed in her seat for the rest of the flight, only moving when she was told to after landing, just to be on the safe side. She was worried about what was going to happen to her friend, but not listening to the guard? They'd stuff her in a suitcase if she was lucky! She couldn't risk that.

Once they'd made it to the island though, she'd forgotten all about what had happened. The grounds of their new home were so nice! And not only that, but at weekends, she'd be allowed out, to go play in the town, or on the beach! What could be better than that? Well, maybe being in the ward that was allowed it every day, but this way, she'd always have somethign to look forward to! Weekends would be a special treat, somethign to enjoy with her friends. Speaking of friends, it was about time she head back to her room to meet the girls she'd be living with here at Saint Christina's. Hopefully, they'd be nice; she had no idea how she'd cope with living with people who hated her. How could she keep them happy?

As it turned out, she had nothing to worry about. She was already smiling when she pushed open the door to dorm B1, happy at the thought of meeting new people, and as soon as she caught sight of Kenny, she squealed and dashed inside to give the other girl a tight hug and a big kiss. "Kenny! I was worried about you! What happened on the plane?" she asked, bouncing on the spot, her arms still wrapped around her roommate. "This is your room too, right? We get to be roommates again? This is gonna be awesome!" she continued, speaking fast, absolutely delighted with the arrangements. Another kiss for Kenny, and she released the girl, stepping backwards, grinning from ear to ear. "Is it safe in here?" she asked, nodding to the pendulum, though she wasn't all that concerned either way. She was with Kenny, what could possibly go wrong?

Chanchala Jai was doing muchworse than her poor mother could have been hoping for. The sticky feeling of her hot tears still stained her face as she made her way carefully after the 'staff' member or nurse, or orderly or whoever this person was, who had offered to show her where she would be staying. She had become lost the moment her feet landed in this place and she had ended up curled in a ball against a wall for some time, unable to bring herself to stand and move.

Not after what they had done to her.

What facility treated a rape victim like that? It was disturbing and horrifying and Chanchala was mortified that a woman would even touch her like that. The teen scrubbed at her left cheek again, failing to get the tear0stained feeling off and only succeeding in causing a red flush to flash across her face where the pressure and friction brought the blood up to the skin.

The Indian girl halted, just short of running into the other young woman's back. She said little when she was pointed in the right direction. She simply went. Pausing before the door, she listened for a few moments before reaching out. It was obvious there were others already here. And she hated to disturb them. But this was where she was to stay, so she had to get used to the new people, right.

She tapped her knuckles on the door a couple of times, to let whoever was inside know she was coming, and pushed the door open, stepping in. She closed the door behind her and leaned back against it, her eyes to the ground before flicking up to glance at the room quickly. "H-hello...?"

Kennedia had short legs, stumpy even. They didn't touch the floor when she sat on the end of her bed but rather dangled right above. A air passing between the soles of her feet and the rehab center's flooring. Who ever had left her there had kindly taken off her sandals. Kennedia was glad. She didn't like the lines they left on her skin if they were on to long. All angry and red. Her time unconscious had left her feet clean and soft. Kenny loved her feet. They were a pair of the few truly nice parts of her. Free from the trails of her weight gains and loses. They were small, untouched, and with an even bronze skin tone. Just perfect.

Kennedia barely had a moment to realize it was Kitty shrieking at the door. Just a sound to make her jump and then in an instant the other girl was on her. Arms and lips. Kenny only responded to the first kiss a fraction but on instinct hugged Kitty tight. The other girl's frame was such a comfort but her brain was still moving sluggishly.

"...I didn't think it was safe... I didn't want to get on the plane..." Kenny said it softly. A little embarassed. Everyone was here in one piece. Was she wrong? Or maybe it had only been dangerous to her? Or maybe her sedation changed the course of their destinies. Kennedia couldn't be sure, more over she wasn't sure she wanted to be. Perhaps a plane ride was just too big a question for her abilities. There were so many variables involved. How could she possibly predict them all? She wasn't her mother, at least not yet.

"Yeah, we're roommates again," Kennedia smiled, glad for a change of subject. Glad for Kitty. When the second kiss came Kenny was ready. She leaned in a reciprocated happily. Touching the side of her friends lovely face softly as she did so. Kitty was such a treasure. And they were together again, mandated to the same room. A room that would see nightfall eventually and then they'd be together in the dark. Kennedia had thought about it nearly every night since they'd been assigned to new rooms at Hadley. And knowing Kitty and her ways she doubted she'd even have to gather the courage to invite the strange but pretty girl over to her bed....

"I just checked the room. It's very safe. My pendulum reacted almost immediately..." Once they had air between them again Kennedia nodded confidently and smiled broadly. A little blush had risen to her cheeks. She'd always worn her heart on her sleeve and life here would be no exception. Hearing a knock on the door. Kennedia turned her face to watch as it opened. Another young girl walked in and couldn't meet their dark eyes with her's. Kennedia's eyes narrowed as usual. She seemed shifty. Her hand raised, holding up her pendulum. She'd get a reading before she said a word. Obviously a full tarot reading would have to happen but for now she'd answer the most important question. Trust?

A long silence moment past. Kennedia held her breathe. The pendulum circled and she exhaled pointedly before dropping it into her lap. Apparently, yes. But Kennedia still remained a bit suspicious. She watched the new girl carefully as she answered her. Reaching out with her claircognicence and trying to get a better feel for her.

"Hello. Are you looking for room B1? Because that's were you are."

If anyone had asked her, Kitty wouldn't have been able to pick a single best feature for Kenny. As far as she was concerned, her roommate was perfect, in every way. She was beautiful, kind, smart, and more than that, she was willing to share all of it. While Kitty would struggle to find a single bad thing to say about anyone at Hadley, she had more good to say about Kenny than anyone else she'd met so far, and this was before her roommate had taught her the various psychic techniques she used to read everything around her. Everyone might be perfect, but Kenny? She was the most perfect person here, in Kitty's eyes anyway. It would take a lot to convince her otherwise.

"It's okay." she said quietly, stroking her roommate's cheek, "We're all here okay. Maybe it was just what happened to you that set it off? It's nothing to worry about now." she continued, holding herself close to her roommate, inappropriately so if anything. Kenny was so soft and beautiful, she wouldn't have stopped even if she realised it wasn't strictly allowed. "I should have sat with you on the plane, I'm sorry." she said, her voice soft. "We're always safe when we're together, right?" she added, giving a soft smile. Bad things didn't happen when the two of them were close like this, at least not so far, she could only assume that was an affect that was going to stay. hopefully, whatever the reason, it would keep this room nice and safe.

"It's safe cuz we're together in here, right?" she asked as Kenny spoke again, a huge smile on her face at the news that they were going to be sharing this room. Possibilities were already running though her head, it was ever more tempting just to gently push Kenny onto a bed right now, but before she had the chance, there was a knock at the door. Somewhat reluctantly, kitty stepped back from Kenny to give the girl the space to take a reading, turning to the newcomer and waving cheerily. "Hi!" she said with a bright smile, glancing to Kenny and the pendulum, her smile growing as it circled. Whoever this girl was, she was safe too! And cute! Not as much as Kenny, sure, but so what?

Her smile only growing, she moved across the room and hugged Chanchala tightly, planting a kiss on her cheek. "I'm Kitty, and this is Kenny, what's your name?" she asked, stepping back, her hands on the girl's shoulders."You're really pretty, do you know that?" she continued, before finally stepping away, giving the girl the space to actually come into the room, and moving back to Kenny to kiss her roommate again, taking hold of one of Kenny's hands and giving it a gently squeeze. "Welcome to B one, the prettiest room here!" she said with a giggle, kicking off her shoes and dropping down onto Kenny's bed, her smile about as wide as was possible. This was going to be great!

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Chanchala's eyes had widened a bit when she looked over the other two girls. They were practically on top of one another?! So...They were friends, right? That closeness meant they were good friends. Had to. The idea of it being anything sexual didn't even cross Chanchala's mind, as that kind of idea had never before been presented during her up-bringing. But the closeness still made her a bit uncomfortable. Especially after her ordeal with checking in to this place. She was quiet throughout the long pause but did look up at movement.

And her dark eyes fell upon that swinging pendulum and it captured her attention. What was it? She didn't really know. But it was pretty. She watched as it swung about and then glanced to the more active of the two girls when the pendulum moved. Well, she was smiling. That was a good thing, right?

And then she was asked a question. "Oh!" she said, startled. "Um, yes, I am. I'm sorry for my rudeness! I..." Her voice was cut off by a surprised squeak when she found arms about herself and lips on her cheek. She stiffened a bit in surprise, not sure how to react. But as the other girl almost immediately released her she relaxed. She let her fingers run across the other girl's hand in greeting as the giggling girl pulled away. Chanchala did not want her room mates to think she was stuck-up or didn't want to be friends with them. She was just surprised.

"I...Well, yes, this is a very pretty room. Umm..." She glanced about again before turning tentative eyes to the others. "I am Chanchala. But since I moved from India, people have been calling me Chan, so I suppose you can as well, if you wish..." Of, course, an introduction was the best way to get to know who you were with. At least, it was a good way to start. And her mother had taught her manners, even though she was having a tough time acting like it right now.

One hand lifted to her face as she scrubbed at another spot, still sticky from her long-gone tears.

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Kennedia Okpik Sun May 29, 2011 1:25 pm

Forming around them seemed to be the most ethnically diverse room in all of Green Ridge. Such a large portion of the rehab centre's population was Caucasian it must have been some kind of mathematical anomaly for the three of them to end up in the same room. Kenny was curious to see what their fourth party might look like. The thought of the four gave Kennedia's gut an uneasy feeling. Like a storm brewing in her intestines and stomach acid. Was it the sedation after affects or something more significant. She couldn't be sure, not just yet. Not until she saw them. To try to divine the other girl's nature before she was present would be impossible right now. There was too much energy of newness around them and outside the room. It would all muddle together like over blended oil paints.

Kennedia grinned watching Kitty with the other girl. She was so sweet, so full of positivity and energy. The other girl looked bewildered and Kenny couldn't blame her. Kenny's first reaction to Kitty had been fairly similar. The mere fact that someone existed like that without simply bursting with enthusiasm. When Kitty came back over to her Kennedia kissed back. Just quickly. She didn't want to make the other girl feel tooo awkward but at the same time... Kitty was hard to refuse. Grinning she happily took her hand. The Prettiest Room it was quite the title and more than enough to make Kenny blush and giggle.

"Chanchala," Kenny said it out loud. "That's so pretty. My full name is Kennedia. Kenny is just for short. How long have you lived in America?" Kenny was always interested in other countries and the people from them. It was so exciting to think of the big wide world around them. Kenny had travelled a little with her Mom and Uncle Max. They'd driven into Mexico many times and then to visit the Hudson's in Rhode Island. That was before she was sent to live there after her Mother's death. Living there had made her hate it. Downright hate it.

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Guest Sun May 29, 2011 11:00 pm

These halls were so cold and dead. Where was she? The view through the windows offered no comfort. It was a gray and chilly place, this little coastal island so far away from home. The endless sky was the color of sleet, or rainwater choked with grime greasily slicking an inner-city sidewalk. Father's place in Kansas had been so golden, light, and fresh. Nothing here seemed bright or pure. And that included the patients. She had just encountered a few. One, the Hazel girl, had put her at ease. The others were sinful variations of the same old filth, with revealing clothes and overly forward natures. Perhaps her roommates would be more...welcoming, she supposed. Or at least muted. But she doubted it.

She shook her head rapidly. What were these tangents that she was succumbing to? They were not what Father had told her would become a lady of the Faith. Her extended walk from the third floor, around the grounds, and finally to her own area had calmed her a little. But it was obvious something was eating away at thoughts that should be kind and gentle. Oh, she had to be a good girl. Yes, she would be loving and generous. She would make friends. And through those bonds, she would save souls. Forcing a smile, she slowly pushed open the door to her room.

Wonderful. Already, she was taken aback. Eyes even wider than usual, they darted from the puffy-eyed dark-skinned girl that had been crying to the other two that were standing a bit too close together for a Midwesterner to feel comfortable. Clearing her throat, she carefully considered her words. "Greetings. I am Mary Powell, your final roommate." Or at least she presumed, although there could always be visitors in their midst. She grabbed the edges of her slightly frayed white skirt and lifted them, dropping into a perfectly practiced curtsy. Her mother had shown her how to perform this act, time and time again until her tender feeted spurted blood. It usually impressed. "It is my hope that we all form the deepest bonds of friendship and trust...the Lord's glorious favor permitting."

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Kitty Smith Mon May 30, 2011 10:52 pm

"Chanchala, that's a really, really pretty name." Kitty replied, echoing Kenny's sentiments. "I wish my name was as pretty as yours." she added, looking between the two and beaming brightly. "Is it okay if I call you Channy?" she asked, looking to the girl, her smile only growing. They had a little theme going with the names in here, and sticking with it wouldn't be that hard. Hopefully, whoever they got in to fill the fourth bed would be a little simpler to fit into it, but Kitty would manage somehow. "What's it like in India?" she asked, still smiling. She couldn't honestly say she knew where the country was, geography wasn't something she'd ever really been educated in, but that didn't stop her from having an interest.

Before the conversation could get much further, the door opened again, and the fourth roommate stepped inside. Smiling brightly, and still holding Kenny's hand, she waved to the newcomer. "Hi Mary! Welcome to the prettiest room at Saint Christina's!" she said happily, glad the new girl did indeed fit the naming theme. She was cute too, maybe not as much as Kenny and Channy, but still a very cute and pretty girl in her own right. Slipping her hand out of Kenny's, she planted a peck on the girl's cheek, but before she could dart over to hug and kiss Mary, she stopped. Kenny was already taking out a pendulum, it was probably best to wait until she knew if Mary was safe or not first, right?

What she really wasn't expecting was for her friend to hand the item to her. "Really?" she asked, sounding surprised, looking to the pendulum and back to Kenny. "um, okay." she added, picking it out of her palm and doing her best to imitate the other girl's technique. "Um, hold on a sec Mary, we, um, just have to make sure everything's safe." she explained, eyes locked on the beads. The result wasn't one she wanted to interpret herself though, her eyes soon flicked over to Kenny's. "What do we thing?" she asked quietly, glancing to the pendulum, then to Mary and Channy, then finally back to Kenny again. What were they going to do if they got a roommate who wasn't safe? Would the staff really do that to them? Kitty honestly didn't know.

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Guest Fri Jun 10, 2011 12:44 am

"Hi Mary! Welcome to the prettiest room at Saint Christina's!" One of her new roommates chirped, her tone filling to the brim (and perhaps overflowing) with cheerfulness. It reminded her of that annoying blonde, but it was so overcontrolled and over-the top...a bit shocked by this unexpectedly warm reception, her typical penetrating stare fixed on the welcomer and her friend. A bit of a smile quirked her pallid lips when she saw the chaste kiss exchanged.

Her sisters used to greet each other that way; pure virginal affection overflowing like an untouched spring in Eden. Perhaps these inmates were not so fake; perhaps the affection was just a part of their unique illnesses. Then there was that strange object that one passed to the other. What was it? She narrowed her eyes, attempting to discern. Some kind of dangling jewel. It seemed vaguely familiar, but she couldn't quite place why. The extremely chirpy one then told her that everything was safe. This, naturally, made her far more suspicious than anything else. She could smell lies.

"And what is this sorcery?" she questioned, not accusingly but nonetheless investigative. "And why is it so unsafe?" Stepping forward, she reached out a delicate hand and grasped the stone between her thin fingers. A gasp escaped her as she felt it hum and vibrate within her grasp. Powerful, and with a most electrifying aura. It reminded her of Father. "It's quite beautiful, I think. But what does it do?" Her eyes rolled over to the owner (an unnamed minority of some variety), then to the overly friendly girl that thought the room pretty. "I can feel its raw energy. Is it capable of detecting the truths people wish to keep concealed?" What a tempting thought. Or perhaps...perhaps it was some kind of dark witchcraft. In a place like this, it would not be surprising. Was she surrounded by heathens, then?

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Kennedia Okpik Sun Jun 12, 2011 1:37 am

She smiled softly. Giving Kitty's leg a little squeeze of reassurance. She knew her friend could do it. Divining with a pendulum wasn't very hard, that was why Kennedia always carried them with her. The easiest way to a simple answer. She watched and waited as Kitty got started, but the truth was soon revealed. Sooner than she could have predicted. Kennedia's lips set into a grim line as she began to sense the new aura in the room. Even as the pendulum only just began to move and tremble in Kitty's grasp, Kennedia could already begin to feel it. Like a sinister tingling up her spine. A creeping spider, looking to move up in the world–literally–and laying eggs at the base of her brain stem. The young psychic started to sit up a little straighter. She took a little breath in and calmed her mind. She need to be sure. She shut her eyes for a moment and let the universe speak. By the time she opened her eyes and saw the pendulum swinging side to side everything was crystal clear.

Her eyes said it all when they met with Kitty's gaze. Dark and harder than she'd seen them. A light of fear hidden in the back. Kennedia gave a quick nod. She'd handle this. She had too. Kitty was sweet and far to forgiving, despite all she'd seen she never seemed to consider how evil people could be. But Kennedia, she knew all about that. The mindless cruelty of other human beings. Being able to see them and the danger they create was her blessing. Kennedia was about to take her pendulum back from Kitty when it was touched by other hands. Mary...

Kennedia was about to leap to her feet, yell at her. But Kenny had already lost one pendulum to an evil girl she was locked in with. She didn't want to loose another. She swallowed hard. She wasn't a very subtle person but she'd try this time.

"That's my pendulum," she answered, trying her best to sound nonchalant. "I use to to divine the truth. You see, I'm a very powerful psychic. The Mother Earth gave me a beautiful gift that way." Kennedia stood up, with her strongest air of confidence. She held out her hand to be given her pendulum. Trying to keep her hand from shaking with nerves. She hoped that perhaps she could intimidate this threat. Perhaps if Kennedia could impress her power upon her the snake before them would retreat. "I can show you some of my other tools if you'd like. I still have some of my old tarot cards and things. But I'm excited to see if we can get something new in town since we have off-campus privileges. Hopefully there's some place like that in town. Maybe a Wiccan shop or something?"

Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1) Empty Re: Errbody know it ain't trickin' if ya got it... (Room B1)

Post by Kitty Smith Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:08 pm

Kitty couldn't help giggling a little at the squeeze. She couldn't have asked for a better roommate than Kenny, such a thing just didn't exist. For the moment though, she'd keep her attention on the pendulum, she could return her friend's affection once they were sure if the new arrival was safe or not. There was no use in snogging her roommate if Mary was going to sprout horns and attack them or something. Kitty wasn't exactly certain of what a bad reading from the pendulum would actually mean , besides that Mary was evil of course. She didn't look evil though, just a little strange. kitty hadn't seen a curtsy since she was sold on for the first time (that she could remember), back when she was about twelve.

Kitty's eyes widened as they met Kenny's. The pendulum was swinging, not circling, and that could only mean one thing. Had she done something wrong though? maybe she just wasn't powerful enough to take a reading like this on her own? It was the first time she'd tried it after all, she had no idea what could skew a result. Kenny seemed confident in it though, from the look in her eyes anyway, but as Kitty glanced to Mary, the newcomer stepped forwards, grabbing the swinging stones. Though kitty gave a small squeak and looked to Kenny, she soon looked back, trying not to seem too afraid. Maybe she'd just made a mistake, that had to be it.

"It's not sorcery." she said, letting go of the stones and looking to Kenny as the other girl spoke, a smile soon returning to her face as her hand sought out her roommate's again. "It's true! Kenny's really powerful, she's great at this! I'm still learning how it works, I dunno if I did anything right." she continued, giving Kenny's hand a gentle squeeze and looking to her again. "Did I mess up? I think you should take a reading too, just to make sure." she added, her voice quiet. that would be the only way for them to tell if she'd done anything right or not, wouldn't it? Did the pendulums even work more than once on the same person? There was so much about all this that kitty just didn't know, she really needed to learn a lot more.

Her smile only grew as Kenny spoke of the tarot cards and other things they could use to divine fates, all things for Kitty to learn, and at mention of a shop, she even squealed a little. "That would be awesome!" she replied, letting go of Kenny's hand and bouncing on the spot a little. "We should go look for one this weekend!" she added, grinning brightly and slipping her arms around Kenny, pulling her into a tight hug and planting a quick kiss on her lips. "You're gonna teach me now the cards and stuff work too, right?" she added, beaming brightly, keeping her arms around the other girl, Kitty had never really had a concept of what was appropriate, which was hardly surprising given her age, but one thing was for sure.
