It was a long flight. Going from one side of the country to the other seemed to take so long and Demetri could not sleep while he was in that air like that. He hadn't been sure where he was going so he was rather nervous to get on a plan. He was never fond of flying over seas, since water wasn't his favorite thing, so he was a little on edge the whole plan ride and he avoided windows. Thankfully two young girls sat next to him and occupied the seats closest to the window so He had felt a little better about it. Where was he going? All he had heard was some sort of island, which scared him even more. Forever surrounded by water did not sound like his ideal place of living but as long as their was land he believed he would be fine. He was wearing a simple outfit. He had on his glasses, he didn't feel like putting in his contacts this morning. He had a on a loose light blue button up shirt and a pair of black jeans. On his feet were a pair of black canvas shoes that were easy to slip on.

He was one of the first people off the plane when it arrived. There had been multiple planes and Demetri's was one of the first to land. He got off and was brought to the new facility which was rather amazing. It was large and it was rather nice here at the new place. The first thing that happened when they reached the new building was they were searched, searched just like the first day they arrived. After finishing this a staff member escorted Demetri to his room which was in another building. When he reached the room he noticed four bed and nodded to himself. He looked around lightly and choose one as he sat down. He set his stuff down as he looked about. It wasn't to much different then hadley, all the same people, pretty much the same staff just a different building. He blinked lightly as he sat there.

He was sort of tired now, now that he was not so nervous his body was telling him that he had missed one of his naps. So far there was no one else in the room. Either they were being scanned or they were on a different flight, either way he had a little time til they would get up here. He lied down lightly on the bed he picked. He hated picking a bed when no one was there but he was there so he just picked the first one he came upon. He closed his eyes lightly and pulled his glasses off as he set them next to the bed. He didn't feel like he would sleep heavy but more like lie silently and let his mind rest.

Room C1 Empty Re: Room C1

The move hadn't bothered Marcos at all. he was used to packing his life up and moving across the country every few months, living with his father had made that almost routine. They'd skipped states every time the delusional conman had decided 'they' were onto him, and it was that which had led to Marcos' sister being abandoned. It had led to his own abandonment too, but he wasn't so worried about that, leaving Natalia behind had been unforgivable. One day, somehow, he would find the girl, whatever it took, and being her back into the family; assuming that was what she wanted anyway. At the very least, he'd get communication going between the two of them again.

That was for the future though. For today, he just had the new Hadley to adjust to. The search had gone the same way it always did, they'd found nothing on him, and no contraband in his luggage. there were a few little stolen bits and pieces and taken those away, but nothing too serious. Just bits of ribbon, the odd shiny plastic hair grip and a holographic foil wrapped pencil. Marcos thought he was doing quite well with his kelptomania, hopefully whoever his shrink was would agree. That would imply they actually cared, something there was precious little evidence of so far in his stay at Hadley. he'd seen a shrink what, once?

No sense in worrying about that now though. Making his way to his new dorm room, ward C, which meant he was free to wander the town and it's many shops, the smile never left his face. The promise of freedom was a great motivator, even without a shrink he figured he'd try harder with a taste of the freedom Hadley had never allowed. The day of his eventual release from this place would be all the sweeter for it. of course, that did involve him recovering to the point of avoiding the adult wards, which wasn't going to be at all easy to do all on his own, but he had to try. Who knew? maybe the shrinks here would care more.

Laughing at that thought, he pushed open the door to room c1, and headed straight for one of the empty beds. "Hey, I guess we're roommates?" he said to the other boy, smiling brightly over at him. "name's Marcos, you?" he added, trying not to let his eyes roam over the other boy too much. It had been a while since he'd last got laid, with a cute roommate like this one, he could only hope the dry spell wouldn't go on much longer. There might be a camera in the dorm room now, but that didn't mean there were going to be guards all over every inch of the entire island, right? If he didn't test that theory with Demetri, he undoubtedly would with Madeline...

Like Marcos, Jamie wasn't bothered by the move. In fact, it had made him happier, because Oregon was closer to California than New York, and they had a town and a beach and a park and a lighthouse and so many other things and places to explore. Well, those of them that were fortunate enough to live in Ward C did, anyway. He didn't know who he was assigned to share a room with, but he had a feeling it would be a very cheery dorm due to the fact they didn't have to be confined in it all the time. Cabin fever made people go crazy. Even Jamie started to lose his mind a little when he was cooped up inside for too long. Winters on the island would probably be brutal, but he wasn't worried about that now, because summer had only just begun.

The one thing that upset Jamie about the move was that he had to leave his precious findings behind - the magic mushrooms he'd quite accidentally stumbled upon in a cow patty on Hadley's grounds in the dead of winter. He wasn't stupid enough to think he could sneak them past security at the new facility. Frankly, he was a little angry with himself for holding onto them for so long. He'd been so damn intent on finding people to trip with he hadn't stopped to considered that his attempt might be thwarted. Then again, how could he have foreseen this? How could he, or anyone else, have known that they'd be forced to leave Hadley behind, and all the paraphernalia they might have acquired in the meantime? After all, it felt like they'd just gotten settled in after the last move from Louisiana. Jamie had been sure that Phoenicia was going to be his permanent place of resident until he turned eighteen, but that just went to show you that you never knew what was around the next corner.

He'd been close, so close! If only he hadn't hesitated, if only if he hadn't been so stubborn, if only he had swallowed his pride and eaten the mushrooms alone, he could have experienced a good solid trip, his first high in months. Magic mushroom trips, on average, lasted around six hours. Six. Hours. Six fucking hours! By the time he was high he wouldn't have even cared that he was alone, much less noticed it. He would have been off in his own little world, passing the time spotting shapes in the paint on the walls or something. But the promise of getting high with two guys like Chance and Ace had been too tempting for him to resist, so he had saved them, waiting for a time they could all get together and escape notice long enough to trip their fucking balls off. Ah well, it was nothing but a wasted opportunity now, and dwelling on his error wasn't going to bring those mushrooms back. He could only hope he was lucky enough to get another break like that. Then again, there was the new threat of random drug testing, and he didn't want to be stuck in St. Christina's forever, so perhaps it was best if temptation strayed far from his path...

Jamie's eyes lit up when he arrived at his dorm and saw that two-thirds of his fellow roommates were already there. He hadn't expected it. He'd thought they would have been outside given the first chance, and he would have been too if it hadn't been for the unexpected company. One of the boys was lying on his chosen bed, apparently exhausted from the plane ride. The other boy was looking at him in a curious fashion, one Jamie recognized all too well. A sly, knowing grin tugged at the corners of his lips, and he announced himself by dropping heavily onto one of the last vacant beds and waving one hand in greeting. "Hey guys, what's up? I'm Jamie. You guys excited about this new place or what?" He wasn't sure what his enthusiasm would be met with, but he couldn't pretend that he was anything but ecstatic.

Room C1 Empty Re: Room C1

It was quite and he liked it. He had thought it had been rather loud on the plane. He put his arm over his face as he lied there. He wasn't sure when his roommates would get there but he hoped he had sometime to rest a little before they did. He drifted off slowly as he lied there, his brain relaxing as the light was blocked by his arm. He shifted a bit every time he heard a sound, he was a little uncomfortable here but he was slowly getting use to it. There was a sound of birds that could be heard outside the window, it was soothing and it made him wonder what time it was but he did not feel like moving to find out. He dozed off and time seemed to move in an instant. The next thing he knew he heard a voice that had entered the room.

He opened his eyes lightly as he pulled his arm off his face, squinting at the light that hit his face. He sat up slowly as he slipped his glasses on his face, the room came into focus as he adjusted to the light. "Hey, I guess we're roommates?"..."name's Marcos, you?" Demetri paused for a moment as the questions registered in his head. "ah... yes... It is nice to meet you... my name is Demetri." He said as his accent distorted his words. Demetri recognized this boy. He was familiar, he had seen him around Hadley but he did not know his name. He ran a hand under his glasses as he rubbed his eyes lightly. He wasn't as tired as when he first got here but he was still somewhat timed he would have to remember to take a nap after he was settled in. He blinked lightly as he looked back at the other.

Demetri looked over as there was another boy in the room as well who he had not noticed. He had never seen that boy before. He wondered if he was in the same grade as him because he was sure he had never seen him in his classes, though half of the time Demetri rarely made it to class since he ended up sleeping so much. He had some issues with his new medications and he missed a lot of class. He had to make up a lot of it when he was awake. "Hey guys, what's up? I'm Jamie. You guys excited about this new place or what?" he nodded lightly as he heard the boy with the dreadlocks speak, whose name he had just learned to be Jaime. "Hello... it is nice to meet you too.." Demetri said with a small smiles as he continued to wake up more.

He hated being tired so much but it wasn't like he could control it. He was rather curious who his last roommate was going to be. So far it looked like these guys were pretty nice and he was happy about it. His last roommate was a little awkward, well it wasn't that he was awkward it was that they were both somewhat timid people and it was hard for them to strike up a conversation. He looked at the two lightly. "So.. was your plane ride nice?" He said with a small smile as he wanted to continue the conversation he really hoped that this roommate relationship would go much smoother then his last.

Room C1 Empty Re: Room C1

Ah....freedom. It was wonderful thing. At least, that’s what they wanted them to think. The “they” being the shrinks and the “them” being the patients. In Chance’s mind it was, and always would be a very “us” versus “them” atmosphere. It didn’t matter that they weren’t at Hadley, anymore. If anything, this island in the middle of nowhere made it worse. Sure the brochure was nice looking with its happy, smiling normal people. But at the end of the day, it was “us” versus “them.” And the “them” wanted the “us” to think that they had more freedom. No more stupid uniforms, and special shiny walkabout privileges for the harmless crazies...and the the illusion of more freedom was all set. But the Las Vegas native saw it for what it really was: a con, a trick, a trap. A “give ’em enough rope and watch ‘em hang themselves” type of situation. But, as his father used to say, “you can’t dope-fiend a dope fiend, mijo.”

Naturally, he’d take full advantage of whatever “privileges” were given to him. He wasn’t an idiot. But he made a mental note to keep an eye out for...just about everything, because he had no clue what he would be looking for. But it wouldn’t hurt to keep an eye out all the same. He also made a note not to be too vigilant, either. The last thing that he wanted was some shrink getting trigger happy and trying to tack on a nice extra diagnosis of paranoia. Then he’d never get out. If any of the stories were to be believed, it wasn’t uncommon for a kid to turn up with a brand new issue that he didn’t come in with.

His conspiracy theory aside, Chance was excited about the move. It was a nice break in the monotony of life in the nuthouse. When he’d first heard about his, his mind wondered which small corner of the country they were being shipped off to. Some kids whispered stuff about Alaska, while others chattered about some secret desert location, like Area 51. When he found out that they were going to Oregon, his excitement had increased, just a bit. Oregon was a hell of a lot closer to Vegas than New York. He hadn’t been prepared for the feeling that knowledge had produced him, though. The feeling had caught him off guard, initially. What the hell was there left for him in Las Vegas? His shithead father was in prison. His junkie-whore mother was...who knew where the hell she was. And his sisters? They could be anywhere. A small part of him wondered if any of them were still in the state. He hadn’t been taken too far, but that didn’t mean really much. If wondered if they were looking for him. Those putas better be looking for me, damnit...

Pushing the thought of his sister out of his mind, Chance hauled his bags into his new dorm room. Thinking about them was starting to depress him. As he walked through the doorway, he noticed that he was the last one to arrive. And the last one to get a bed, too. Not that it mattered. After spending as much time as he did sharing a mattress in the corner of a basement floor, getting the last bed was no problem at all. “Looks like I’m the last one here. How goes it, fellas?” A smile spread across his face as he took a second look at his new roommates. “ The faces were all familiar. He knew Marcos mainly by reputation. He was the guy who knocked up that girl and had a baby. Demetri was one of his old roommates back at Hadley. Chance thought of him as “the one who lived.” And last, but not least, was Jamie; the mellow dude with the shrooms. Even without the promise of a wicked high, Chance would hang out with Jamie, anytime. So once again, Lady Luck had smiled on the curly-haired boy. He was totally cool with the guys that he was assigned to live with. “I think we’re all gonna get along great, guys.”

Marcos smiled as Demitri spoke. It was nice to know he wouldn't be the only one in here with an accent, though he though his own was cuter. Still, Demitri's wasn't bad, it was much nicer than some of the American accents around here. "Whereabouts are you from?" he asked, playing up his Spanish accent, as he so often did. Admittedly, he usually used it to hit on pretty girls, but pretty boys were rarely passed up either, and hadley wasn't lacking in either. That was only proved, yet again, as the next roommate entered their shared space. Dreads; that was new, and from the look on his face, he was going to be great fun too. "Hey Jamie, I'm Marcos. Nice to meet you." he replied to the newcomer, still smiling.

It wasn't long before the fourth and final roommate entered, and once again, Marcos turned his smile to the new arrival. "Hey, looks like we're all here then." he said, walking back to his own bed and dropping onto it. "name's Marcos, you?" he added, eyes on Chance for the moment. What were the odds that he'd get a room as good looking as this one? They had to be pretty slim, there was no way and of the other boys dorms would be like this, right? He'd half expected to end up with some knuckledragging linebacker, the kind who'd toss out homophobic slurs every few seconds. there was at least oen fo those sorts around, Duncan if Marcos remembered rightly. hopefully, he was safely in ward A.

"I hope so." he replied as Chance spoke, still smiling. "It looks to me like we're gonna have a lot of fun in here." he added, looking around at the others. Chance and Jamie certainly had a look about them, the hair he supposed, that practically screamed pothead, Demitri though, well, he seemed more the quiet, timid sort. Maybe one fo those anxiety things? he wouldn't know unless he asked. "I kinda slept for most of the plane ride, you?" he replied to the quiet boy, before looking around again. "So, what's everyone in for?" he asked, smiling once again. Having a kleptomaniac roommate probably wasn't going to go down well with them, but at least they'd know where to look when things went missing...

Jamie casually took in the appearance of both boys as he made himself comfortable on his new bed. Leaning back on his hands, he crossed his legs Indian-style and flicked his dreads out of his face with a short toss of his head. Even without knowing who his fourth roommate was, Jamie already liked this arrangement much better than the last. He'd been sharing a room with Jayden, Roscoe, and Nate back in New York. Jayden was a sweetheart, but Roscoe and Nate were both elusive and moody. They weren't particularly unpleasant that he'd noticed, but they had kept to themselves, which was awkward for someone like Jamie, who wanted to get to know everyone. He'd known to keep his distance from them, but he hadn't exactly enjoyed it. It kind of sucked, not being able to talk to your roommates. He remembered sharing a dorm with Artemis, how great that had been. But that felt like such a long time ago now, and he hadn't seen his boyfriend since before the move. Was he settling in okay? What ward was he assigned to? Who were his roommates? Jamie worried about him and hoped he was alright. He hadn't taken the last relocation too well. He'd gotten in a fight and avoided Jamie for the better part of the following weeks until the dreadlocked boy finally broke the long, tense silence between them and got him to confess what was bothering him, keeping him at arm's length.

With any luck, he'd catch up with the blond soon enough. For now, it was time to get to know the boys he'd be spending a fair bit of his time with from now on. "Good to meet you Demetri, Marcos." He nodded to each one in turn before there was a ruckus at the door and the last arrival shuffled in - or maybe it was more like strutted in. Jamie's grin grew wider when he saw who it was. All the smiling was starting to make his cheeks hurt, but he couldn't seem to stop. "Chance, buddy! Good to see you, man." Jamie didn't have anything against new people, but it was refreshing and reassuring to see a familiar face. "I gotta tell you, I am feeling really good about this." With all the freedom they had now, Jamie could see Chance quickly becoming his comrade-in-arms, his right-hand man. He had a feeling they would light the quiet little town of Green Ridge on fire with their shared energy and natural charm. It would be good to have a solid guy he could rely on. It wasn't as if Jamie was short of male friends, but there was no one here he was all that close with yet, not like he'd been back home. Artemis didn't count. He was his boyfriend, which made their dynamic slightly different. Okay, it made it a lot different. The gap between friend and boyfriend was wider than he'd thought, because it wasn't as if Jamie was thinking of having sex with Chance; he didn't think the guy would be okay with it even if he wanted to. No, what Jamie needed wasn't another lay, it was a guy friend he could talk to, really talk to, especially when he couldn't talk to Artemis...or anyone he happened to be sleeping with at the time.

"I enjoyed the plane ride," Jamie finally replied to Demetri's question, nodding thoughtfully and moistening his lower lip with his tongue. "Damn, do I need something to drink though!" Laughing softly, he glanced around the room, hoping for a mini fridge or something, but nope, the room was the same standard, no-nonsense layout as before. It offered the basic amenities and nothing more, the most important one being a bed to sleep in. Jamie supposed that was all he really needed. He had a roof over his head, clothes on his back and food to fill his belly - anything else could be considered a luxury at this point. Jamie was appreciative of what little he had, but the thing was, nothing was ever quite good enough to take the place of drugs. He would have happily given up sleeping under a roof for a lungful of pot smoke. That was where his priorities lay and probably always would. He could give up the other drugs if he had to, but not Mary Jane. She was special. Was that really enough to keep him locked up here? Maybe it wasn't, but he was still under eighteen, which meant he didn't have much of a choice. It wasn't as if his family was on the island to take him back, and he wasn't sure he wanted them there anyway. Even if he did, they wouldn't come. Their careers were more important than their only son. Always had been.

Jamie cocked his head in Marcos' direction when he spoke. "You probably guessed it as soon as I walked in here. I'm in for drugs, pot and other psychedelics, mostly." He laughed good-naturedly, poking fun at his stereotypical stoner appearance. He knew he was a walking cliche, but he liked the way he looked, and it wasn't as if he had any trouble getting laid or making friends because of it. He milked his appearance for all it was worth, even if it sometimes worked against him. The cops on this island would be able to spot his dreads from a mile away and know what he was after, so he doubted he'd be able to score anything in town -- that was if Green Ridge somehow managed to have an underground drug ring, and that didn't seem very likely. Then again, he was only judging the book by its cover, which everyone warned against. Logic deemed that there had to be something here. Every town had a seedy underbelly, no matter how small or remote. Did that mean Jamie was going to go looking for it though? Probably not... Well, maybe if he got bored enough he would, but he was hoping it wouldn't come to that. He wanted to keep his nose clean and get out as soon as possible, but that didn't mean he'd be able to resist temptation if it fell into his lap...again. Drugs seemed to have a way of finding him, for better or for worse, and he didn't know how to say no.
