Game Play Issues

If we can be in as many threads as we want, how does time work? How do I know what happened before what?
The magic here is that time is based on when the first post in your thread was posted. The time does not really matter but the date... that is the day the things in your thread are happening. However, if you do not want things to happen on a specific day or time you only have to specify the day and/or time in your thread and that is the day/time that it becomes.

OMG! My thread got moved and I cannot find it!!!11one
First of all, calm down! Secondly, sorry Charlie your thread got archived. You should have kept up with your threads! Keep in mind that our activity standards state that you have to post once a week and we only send threads to the vault after 14 days of non-activity. Plenty of time? We think so.

What is this Hand of Fate thing I keep hearing about?
A Hand of Fate account is a 'Cameo' account. These accounts are accessed only by the Mod Squad and are used to add unique twists to your game play experience here at STC. They are used to inform you of ghosts entering your posts, reactions to medications and more! In the most basic sense, Hand of Fate is used to inform you of things that are happening to your character that are by not caused by yourself or another player or but by the game itself. Remember that these things are for fun and should be taken as such! Enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions Empty Security Issues

Security Issues

I read somewhere that cameras are everywhere at St Christina's! Does that mean they are in the Dorms/Housing Buildings and the Restrooms too?
There are cameras everywhere. No where is safe. While this may be thought of as an invasion of privacy, it is a way for the staff at St Christina's to make sure that the patients are safe.

So, what do the security officers wear? I mean, they have to have all these special tools to take care of the patients at St Christinas and the general populous, right?
Security Officers wear black polo shirts that are emblazened with 'Green Ridge Security' and black slacks. They do have a badge visible with their officer numbers and they do have utility belts. The belts hold guns, tazers, sedatives, zip ties, batons, flashlights, handcuffs, radios (tuned to channel 1) and more!

I realize the grounds of St Christina's are surrounded by a fence but why can't my character just climb it to escape?
Your character can certainly try but the fences are electrified and topped with rows of razor wire. On top of this, there are cameras everywhere. St Christina's does wish you luck though.

Frequently Asked Questions Empty Communication Issues

Post by Admin Ghost Fri May 06, 2011 4:00 pm

Communication Issues

Is there a Myspace or Facebook account for STC or any of its characters?
The short answer is no. The long answer is this: Green Ridge will not allow residents to get on Myspace or Facebook through their intranet so there is no way for this to happen. It has been brought up that we could have something like that, hosted on these real life sites, that was pretended to be a social networking site just for Green Ridge... The answer is still no. Don't ask again.

There is, however, a real life FaceBook account for STC that you can become a fan of. You will find that many of the updates and site changes that happen on STC will be posted as messages in the group!

Frequently Asked Questions Empty St Christina's Issues

Post by Admin Ghost Fri May 06, 2011 4:02 pm

St Christina's Issues

What happens when a patient first gets to St Christina's?
On arrival to St Christina's, patient belongings are searched and all prohibited items are removed. On top of this, they have a full body cavity search. That's right! They are made to spread their cheeks, turn their heads, squat and cough. They are made to open their mouths, move around their tongues and have fingers swept through. On top of that, a guard of the same sex is going to search your orifices. This is a traumatic experience for some and if they get hysterical... Say goodnight because your sweet little patient is going to be sedated, searched and then deposited into the medical building. Welcome to St Christina's! Welcome to hell!

My character has green/blue/orange/rainbow hair and would be lost without hair dyes. How do I keep my char's hair up to snuff?
St Christina's feels that hair dye is a privileged for the free and unfortunately for you character, they are no longer free. There will be no hair dye at St. Christina's. However, Green Ridge does have a beauty shop... Maybe you can get an outing as a reward?

How does my character go about keeping his/her hair in perfect order?! I can't have it an inch longer than it is.
Well, you can! You just don't want to. But that's alright! On Saturdays there is a stylist that comes in to cut hair. Your character can get their hair cut every two weeks by this person but if your character chooses not to have their hair cut, they can opt out.

I realize that St Christina's is an institution and that sharp objects are not allowed. So... How does a resident shave their legs/pits/face?
Every Saturday a member or three of the staff will escort your characters to the restrooms. Each patient is given a cup, a towel and a razor. Patients are then permitted to shave but cannot leave the sight of the staff member. They keep a watchful eye and all razors are inspected and accounted for before the patient can leave the restrooms.

My character is a make-up whore and can't live without make-up! Please tell me we get to keep ours.
You're in luck. Your character can keep their make-up! However, there will be no metal objects. This means no eyelash curlers, no metal handled make-up brushes, etc.

My patient character has to be able to curl their hair. Can we have curling irons?
Your patient character cannot have curling irons, hair dryers, flat irons or the like in the dorms or residential buildings. However, staff will let you check them out! You only have to have your patient character go to the office, check it out, use it and then bring it back.

It may seem trivial but how do patient characters clothes get clean?
Custodial staff collects all soiled clothing from high risk patients each day and they wash, dry and fold it for your patients. In two days time your patient will have fresh clean clothing. However, it is your patient character's responsibility to have their laundry placed in the collection hampers by the doors of each room.

Alternatively, if your patient is not a high risk, there are laundry facilities in the basements of the housing buildings in which your patient can do their own laundry.

Frequently Asked Questions Empty Medical Issues

Medical Issues

My character is pregnant. How does STC handle that??
First off, you must have Admin approval to have a pregnant character on STC. Barring that, we do allow for children on STC. Any patient at St. Christina's will have the option of an abortion, sending the child to her family when it's born, putting it up for adoption or having the child fostered on the island. Patients at St. Christina's will never be allowed to keep their children with them. And St. Christina's will discontinue the use of any medicaitons that they feel are detrimental to the baby's development while the mother is pregnant. All female patients at St. Christina's are given birth control with their daily doses of medications.

But what about residents on the island, you say? Well, we do have a day care! Your characters may have children (again, with Admin approval) but they will not be role played until they are at least 13 years of age as we do not want to have playable toddlers. Also, you are not allowed to NPC RP these characters unless you are in the direct area of that child. If you have questions about this, please ask a member of the Mod Squad.

My character has been raped/is a sexual degeneracy at St Christina's/etc. Is there a morning after pill or can the girls get on birth control?
While there should not be any sexual activity happening within the halls of St Christina's, it does occur. Staff tries very hard to be everywhere but... well, that's near impossible. So St Christain's secretly slips all female students a birth control pill with their morning meds. Your character is not aware of this because its a 'currently being tested' med that no one would recognize.

Residents of Green Ridge can, of course, visit the town medical center for this kind of issue. Smile
