I used to smoke. Casually. Like once or twice a day. Around my girlfriend. But I haven't in a long time, so I don't know if it matters or not.

Patient was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder at age twelve and is known to be depressed and easily prone to obsession.

They gave me pills at Hadley...but I don't know the names or the dosages or anything.

Patient was abducted at age nine on his walk home from school. He was kept for three years in an underground bunker set in the foothills, disguised by brush and other natural features. He there underwent countless physical and sexual assaults before his escape; he was also taught to speak fluent Italian by the abductor, one factor which made reintegration challenging. On the day of his escape, Mr. Buernsey was taken on a "trip" to the Seven-Eleven in a nearby town by his captor as a reward for good behavior, and there managed to hand a note to a stock boy requesting the employee call the police. He was returned to his hometown of Boston, where he was in the care of a psychiatric facility for a time before being released to his parents, attending normal schooling as well as special evening classes which allowed him to make up for three years' lost time. The patient became engaged in a relationship with a girl named Cassandra Tours, who went to his school; they dated normally for a time until she ended the relationship. Mr. Buernsey began to stalk Miss Tours, calling her 'Bella', the Italian word for beautiful, telephoning her constantly, and following her. One night, after knocking on her door and being rebuffed by her father, he broke into her house via the window in her room and raped her. In the time the patient has been interred at the Hadley Institute, he showed notable aggression toward another patient named Nevalee Hedon. He verbally threatened and physically struck her, also calling her 'Bella'. Luckily, this assault was interuppted by staff before it escalated. His main trigger for impulsive behavior is humiliation, but he is also driven by fear and a desire to protect his own wounded psyche from further damage. While the patient is known to be occasionally aggressive, he is for the most part gentle and respectful, timid, even, which should be noted.

Mr. Buernsey was a patient at the Covelli Institute in Boston twice; once at age twelve once at age sixteen. At sixteen, he was moved to the Hadley Institute until its closing.

No. My mother is a really good mother, and nothing that is wrong with me is her fault.

Please describe the location and environment in which you grew up. Please list town and state, and what it was like and how this affected you:
I grew up in Boston, Massachusetts, in a really nice home. My parents were normal parents; they grounded me and made me go to bed at nine and bought me icecream and video games if I was good. I have two little sisters who I love a lot. All those good things lasted up until I was nine, but that's a totally different sob story.

Andry, of course, refers to the trauma already described. He is prone to trying to repress his memories, and has refused attempts by previous therapists to air out his locked up stress and to get him to face his past head on. He suffers from nightmares, partly due to the PTSD and partly due to his unhealthy repression. This is a problem area that no medicine seems to help.

Please describe your educational history. How were you in school, both as a young child and in later grades? How were your grades? Did you enjoy school? Please answer below:
I was a good student up until fourth grade. Teachers gave me stickers and shit, you know. After that, I was always a little behind in school; it was the whole damn 'missing grades five through seven' thing. I kind of hate school now. It's too much being still, like a target.

Patient likes to be vigilant at all times. It has adversely affected his life and schoolwork in that he has a problem paying attention to any one thing specifically; he is always looking around him, trying to identify threats. The reaction decreases with anti-anxiety medication.

Do/did you have many friends growing up? Do/did you have a best friend? If yes, please explain below:
I had tons of friends when I was little. Now I have no friends. I met some nice kids at Hadley, and I guess I'm pretty...aquainted with some of them, but I don't have any real friends.

Do/did you pursue any extra curricular activities or talents? If yes, please explain below:
I devote a lot of time to not going off the deep end.

Patient seems to prefer girls of a certain personality type and possessing certain physical attributes. He appears to like blonde girls with pleasant, bubbly dispositions, possibly due to his own physical appearance and attitude at the time of his abduction. What he considers 'bella' is the same as what his captor did.

Patient has been convicted of rape in the second degree. For the reviewer's lucidation, here is Cassandra Tours' account of the evening in question, taken directly from the court transcript.

"I heard a knock on the door, and my dad answered. I thought it was his friend or something, and I ignored it. Then dad came up and told me that he was running to the store. My window was open because it was a really nice night, and a minute after dad left Andry climbed through it. I was really scared, you know? I tried to tell him to leave, but he kept talking over me and calling me 'Bella' and saying how he would never let them keep us apart. He threw me on my bed and raped me. I called the cops after...I don't know what's wrong with him. Why wouldn't he leave me alone?"

Here is Andry's account of what occurred.

"I went to Cassie's house one night, but her asshole dad told me to go away. So I waited until he was gone, climbed up her porch railings onto the roof and got in through her open window. She acted like she was surprised to see me, but I guess she was joking around. I got her on the bed and started to get her clothes off, but then she screamed. I don't know why; maybe I pinched her or something. Anyway, we had sex, and after we were done, she grabbed the phone and made a phone call. I guess it was to the police; I don't know why she would do that, though, so they probably found out some other way. They came to my house and arrested me later."

As you can tell, the two accounts are drastically different.

What, you have to ask this question? I would have taken the fucking bus home.

How do you feel about your life and the things you have done in it, looking back? If you have committed crimes, how do you feel about those now?:
I don't feel bad about Bella, even though everyone says I should. I did not rape her. We had consentual sex that night, and you can't make me believe anything else. I do feel bad about Nell, though. I shouldn't have hit her, but I panicked. I'm sorry for it now. Any other regrets I may have are irrelevant...what's done is done, and however much everyone tries to undo it with drugs and therapy they just can't. It can't be done. I'm not going to dwell on it any more than I have to. Everyone tells me I need to face it, but I think I'm already facing it. It's something that no-one can fix about me. I'm, like, previously owned. Like a car.

What are your goals in life, and how do you feel those would be best accomplished?:
I want to go back to Boston and reunite with Bella. This would be best accomplished if you people would stop shuffling me from hospital to hospital.
