Splish Splash! Empty Splish Splash!

Post by Danica Princip Sat Jun 18, 2011 6:04 pm

Sunday. One of the only days in the week that Dani was able to be herself, to wander around off campus without having to worry about security, and more than that, a day when she was free to swim as much as she wanted. She'd spent almost the whole of Saturday in the island's pool, and today, it was the turn of the beach. A swim in the ocean, what could be better than that? She wanted to sail once she was out of here, getting used to swimming in salt water, and dealing with currents and things, not to mention wildlife. That, and it was a welcome change of both scenery and smell. There was only so much chlorine she could handle, and the view out in the sea was infinitely better than that in the pool.

She'd had a smile on her face all morning, though she wasn't allowed out until lunchtime. Ward C kids got the morning too, Dani just wasn't that fortunate, not yet anyway. Maybe once she was actually assigned a therapist and the whole therapy thing got started, things would be different. probably not, but she could always try. She had a horrible feeling once therapy did start that Laura would be confined to ward A, which would just be horrible, but...maybe, just maybe, one of the damn therapists would actually do something to help the poor girl. Probably not, but maybe, with Dani hassling them, they'd at least try? Shelby would have done, she was sure, but just like Lindsey before her, Shelby had just up and vanished one night. She guessed it wasn't so bad that the shrink had waited until they moved, but she'd still rather not have lost the one adult she trusted, yet again. She didn't see herself bonding with another one

As soon as lunch was over, she'd darted back to her dorm, hurriedly changing into her favourite red and black swimsuit and pulling a tshirt and shorts over it. There was no changing room at the beach, which would have simplified things, but she wasn't overly bothered. Stepping into some sandals, she poked her compass pendant back inside her shirt, grabbed a towel, and off she went. The walk wasn't that bad really, surprisingly, but then, the promise of a dip in the ocean at the end of it was a powerful motivator for the girl. The smile didn't leave her face all the way out onto the sand, even as she peeled off her shorts and t-shirt. Her smile only growing, she jumped them, her towel and her sandals in a pile, tucked her pendant inside her swimsuit, and ran for the water, oblivious to anyone else out here on the sand.
