Maggie walked slow. Her heart felt it had been surgically removed. Nothing left but a dripping black crater. Devoid and rotting. She was a zombie. Moving without true purpose in a daze. When they'd first arrived she'd been escorted gently to her dorm, and empty room where she was told they'd need time to fill it. She'd be alone for now. Normally she wouldn't have minded, it would be nice to have the extra space. But not today. Not when everyone was being pulled out from under her. First she'd heard Dr. Vincent was leaving and while she was certainly upset she could handle it. She said good-bye to her doctor, gave her a hug and a little wave as she left. Only a little teary eyed once she was in private.

But then she boarded the plane and through the entirety of the ride, every time she got up to go for a walk, the reality solidified around her. There was someone missing, the only person she cared to see these days and he wasn't on the plane. That head of long snow white hair, the unpredictable wheel of fortune personalities. She could feel it happening there on the plane. Tendons and arteries being cut away. Sawed and hacked in her chest cavity. She held it together the best she could. Convinced herself they were keeping him else where, sedated perhaps. He was a fighter after all.

But at the school she searched, asked around and before long it all became crystal clear. Severin Lindberg didn't make the trip cross country. He'd been transferred to a different facility. Her white knight lost. The amputation of her most vital organ complete. He was gone and she was completely alone. Again. If anyone thought she'd get used to that eventually they were wrong. Maggie was destroyed, possibly even worse than the first times it had happened. She walked, pulled along by nothing but her feet. No destination and no goal. Just a dull thought to move. Eventually her foot caught on a bit of uneven ground. She fell forward into the grass and dirt. The shock finally breaking her resolve not to cry. A single sob sounded from her lips before she clapped her slim, pale hand over her lips. Her shoulders shuddered and tears fell free. Finally free.

Elena had to admit that she liked the St. Christina's facility more so that she had liked the Hadley facility in New York. Having one less roommate made her feel a bit better as well. It wasn't that she liked still being locked up, but it was better than before. Better than being treated like a high security prisoner, when she hadn't done anything that warranted such treatment. She still believed that the only reason she was in an institute at all was the fact that her aunt couldn't handle that Elena was more beautiful than her cousins. Not only was she far more beautiful, but she was also more intelligent. She knew that the whole good little Christian thing that her cousins and her aunt and uncle showed was just a guise to hide that they were scared to admit that they were responsible for their own short comings. Elena, on the other hand, knew that she didn't have any short comings. Aside from the obvious fact of height, she was absolutely perfect. And even with her height, she felt it was better than being a tall woman. She would never want to be looked at as a giant. Petite was just right.

All things aside, Elena knew that she hadn't done anything to be stuck in an institute, but since there was nothing that she could do about it now, she was glad that they'd moved and things seemed to be better than they were before. Being in the B ward afforded her a few more freedoms, allowed to move about the island sometimes. That was at least a step up from the situation before. Elena was still finding it difficult to adjust, though. She'd only been at the Hadley Institute for a few months before they were relocated. Granted, there wouldn't ever be enough time for someone like Elena to get used to being restricted. She hadn't been with her parents since their accident almost 2 years earlier, and she refused to give up the idea that she was better than everyone around her, and idea that they had reinforced time and time again.

Elena didn't think that she was better than anyone, no. She knew that she was better than everyone around her. Whether everyone else knew it or not, she knew it. And that thought stuck in her head as she watched a girl, seemingly not paying any attention to where she was going, trip and fall. "You might want to watch where you are going." The thought never crossed Elena's mind to ask the other girl if she was alright. In Elena's way of thought, if the girl was idiotic enough to trip over her own two feet, she deserved whatever injury she would receive.

Her knees in the dirt, now scartched up, perhaps even seeping a tiny bit of blood at the moment. It had been a terribly hard fall. Quite the show really. Maggie could feel her face light up, red as a stop sign, with embarrassment. But that was minor compared to how the rest of her body was betraying her. She didn't hurt. At least not physically. Inside well. Her heart wasn't broken was it? Removed. Devoid. Nothing left but the aching, wide open pain of a hole. She was shaking and try as she might to stop them the sobs kept coming.

Her hand clamped over them may have changed the sound. Perhaps they came off as moans of pains or coughs under that tight cover of bones, muscle skin. But where anyone to get a look at her face? Any available illusion would have been ruined, because that was how she looked, ruined. Complete and utter emotional shambles, and that was at best. So when a voice hit her ear she kept her head ducked down. Her long and thick brown hair her savior at the moment. Creating a curtain and hiding her face away from prying eyes.

"You might want to watch where you are going."

Maggie did her best to nod vigorously at this. Trying to give for certain the impression that yes, she'd heard them. They were free to move along. But the quick head movement released her lips from her hold. A loud, breatheless sob hit the air. Followed by a gasp for air. She sounded as sorrowful as a banshee and she knew it. Knew any bystanders knew it. Quickly she pulled herself up and tried to run, back to the safety of her dorm room. She couldn't be out here. Not now. Her shoulder colliding hard with the shoulder of another as she tried to run past with her head ducked. She stumbled backwards with this new impact. Her head jerked up, blue grey eyes huge, fearful and obviously tearful.

"I'msorryI'msorry"

This was all beginning to become a cruel joke.

((ooc: sorry for the mass weepiness, it had to be done. You're a brave soul and a saint for taking it on. <3 ))

Elena looked at the girl in front of her with a muted expression of disgust. The full emotion was hiding only in her thoughts, as she figured letting the girl know just how she felt would be a weakness of her own. The weepy girl in front of her was weak enough for the both of them. Since the girl appeared so out of sorts, Elena wasn't expecting the impact of being slammed into. Stumbling off balance, it took a great deal of effort for Elena not to fall on her backside.

Staring at the other girl, anger deepening each second, Elena was about to loose her cool. How dare this pitiful, useless waste of flesh be so clumsy as to knock into her? It was something that should never happen. It wasn't like Elena was just anyone, no, she was not some common little fool who tolerated such things. "You are pathetic."

There was no hiding the fact that Elena now held nothing but contempt for the other girl. The actions that had just played out only served to reinforce the view that this girl was far inferior to herself. "If you had any sort of self respect, you would never let yourself get this ridiculous in public."

Never mind that this was a private facility that they were in. Elena viewed anything around people who weren't family as a public setting. And letting yourself cry and fall apart in public, well, that was just unacceptable. That showed every imperfection that a person had. Since Elena fancied herself as perfect, it was something that she looked down upon.

((So sorry it took so long for me to get this up!))

There were time that Maggie could stand toe to toe with Elena. And had she been prepared for it and in the right state of mind she would have. She would have risen from bed as early as she had to and prepared herself. Combed and curled her hair, set it in place with some hairspray. She would have smoothed on her foundation carefully. Set her face with powder and glued false eyelashes on as carefully and subtly as a professional. She would have put on a neat little shirt dress in powder pink, with a sweet little belt cinching it around her tiny middle. She would have walked over calmly, her head held high and modest high heels clicking along the floor. She would have let her smile shine and acted like the beauty queen she was. Not this sad and sorry version of her.

They could have been rivals, hell even frienemies. But not today. Elena was a goddess in comparison to this pathetic, broken version of the Star Luchak child. As she realized, really realized, what she'd done Maggie clapped a hand over her quickly apologizing mouth. She held it there for a moment before slowly dragging her hand down and off her mouth. What have I done? She was a true idiot these days. What was she doing with her life? Letting all these people let her down and leave her. Part of her wanted to say "Good Ridance" and just be on her own instead of letting them all desert her. But she knew in her heart she could never do it. Being alone destroyed her every time and it was about to cover her like the winter covered over the world with snow.

Tears streaming down her face Maggie gulped a deep breath and tried to answer the other girls accusations and 'advice'. Her voice came out hiccupy with sobs and her irregular breathing. She felt honestly like she might hyperventilate. Her hand once pressed to her lips was now pressed over her heart.

"I-I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.... I d-don't normally do things like this. I-it's just e-everything is out of control. And I c-can't...."

A sob choked her last bit of words.
