Welcome to Oakview

Post by Admin Ghost on Wed Oct 12, 2011 3:04 pm

. Welcome to The Oakview Institute for Troubled Youth .

The Oakview Institute for Troubled Youth is an adolescent psychiatric care facility, located a hop, skip and jump away from rural Saline, Louisiana. Outwardly, it is a quaint, welcoming center for mental rehabilitation, housed in a historic southern plantation house and its outlaying buildings. It boasts an impressive estate of sprawling grounds and historic oak trees, an on-site medical building, and even stables where patients -commonly referred to as students- may take riding lessons and unwind. But what's really going on at Oakview?

. The Truth Will Set You Free .
Or will it...

What the 'students' of Oakview don't know is that they have just been signed up to undergo only the most cutting edge, new treatments. And what this actually means is that they are psychiatric guinea pigs. The Oakview Institute is a privately funded facility, sponsored by three up and coming pharmaceutical companies. Medinger Technologien, The Hellard Group and Clegg Pharmaceutical are using The Oakview Institute as a testing ground for drugs that have not yet been approved by the FDA for use in psychiatric treatment. Headed by an oft-dubious Headmaster and Psychiatrist, the institute operates at a high level of security, ensuring that most areas are covered by surveillance, and what goes on behind its walls stays there.

. The Walls Have Ears .
And Eyes... And Voices...

As if the imposed pharmaceutical hell isn't enough to drive a man with his wits rather out of them, The Institute itself, and its adjacent land is steeped in a history of its own. Rumours abound about what exactly went on at Oakview Plantation, in the days when slaves were bought and sold, living there and working the fields. The locals murmur about Voodoo brought in by these poor souls, and it's not uncommon to hear whispers of a lingering curse over the house and grounds. Whether it's true, of course, is yet to be seen.

. Suffer the Children to Come Unto Me .
A Brief History of STC

STC, or Suffer the Children, started out as an adolescent psychiatric facility called The Hadley Institute for Troubled Youth, located in a refurbished Louisiana plantation. It began on proboards, in the last week of January, 2009 after building was completed by its original administrators; Admin Gabby and Admin Rawesome. Throughout its two-plus years of operations, it has moved hosts and changed themes a number of times, but now we come back around to the formula that has made it so popular and beloved by its players. The Oakview Institute is intended as an homage to what made STC so great for all of its players, and is based on the unique view created by Gabby and Rawesome. We therefore bring you back to Louisiana, where it all began, headed by Hadley's last remaining founding staffer, Dr. Gunner Bjorgen.

So, welcome back to Suffer the Children, the way it was once intended to be. We hope you love it as much as we all did when it first opened its doors to us!
