WOMAN FOUND DEAD IN DOWNTOWN GREEN RIDGE
Sunday, June 5th, 2011 44900526130329d1563a Authorities confirm discovery of a body in downtown Green Ridge in the early hours of Sunday, June 5th. The woman, whose identity has not yet been released, was discovered by an island security officer at around 5 o'clock this morning. Security has confirmed that they are treating this as a homicide investigation, but were unable to release further details at this time. Town officials are urging for the public to remain calm, and wish to remind people that this incident is considered an isolated event.
Island security and town officials are calling for anyone who may have information on this incident to come forward, and urge vigilance in the community to aid in the capture of responsible parties. This is the first recorded instance of Homicide on Green Ridge since the 1920s. It has shocked the quiet community of residents. A Mrs. Sullivan, of Green Ridge General Store was receiving a morning delivery when security arrived on the scene only a block away.
"It's just shocking," she said. "You don't ever expect for something like this to happen here. I've been here fifteen years. Green Ridge is such a quiet town."
Other island residents seem to echo Mrs. Sullivan's sentiments, and a general feeling of shock was observed throughout Green Ridge this morning.
Island security officials have confirmed that they are doing everything in their power to find the parties responsible for this heinous act, and insist that the public are not in immediate danger. However, St. Christina Patient curfews, and minors curfews will henceforth be strictly enforced. Failures to observe curfews may result in fines to responsible parties and guardians. Those with information on this incident are requested to please contact the island security sheriff's office at the usual number. Sunday, June 5th, 2011 161031208bankshooting
